sew on!!

i love this card i have made. it has texture and a vintage feel which looks sooo nice, or at least i think so...
i used an old piece of dress pattern paper and glued it to a piece of ranger manilla cardstock (i wasnt too neat and added creases) . i then stamped over the top using archival ink pads (in vermillion & cobalt) with stampers anonymous (tim holtz collection)  haberdashery stamp set. i stamped the main image with a tim holtz distress ink (black soot) and heat embossed to do a nostalgic batik technique with the iron. i used a little paper distressing tool to really texture the edges and then used tim holtz distress ink pads (brown tones) to  ink the edges. i made a happy birthady topper using my stampin up! memorable moments stamp set and matching dies. i stamped once on to kraft cardstock and once on to manilla. the kraft one just gets cut using the dies and added to the card with foam pads. the manialla one gets coloured using distress ink pads and a blending tool, then stamped with "happy 30th birthday" using black archival ink pad. then cut around the stitched detail and tape to the kraft one. add a few buttons to the corner to finish.
