you have got to love 'american frosting'

well the order of the day was a

frosted walnut layer cake ...

you have got to admit a simple american frosting is not that simple if you are on the short side of life

but make do and mend as they say or

find a chair if all else fails!!

the cake is a simple sponge with chopped walnuts added.

there is three layers with frosting inbetween each layer then on top and round the sides

a few half walnuts on top to decorate.

the frosting is made by whisking ingredients in a bowl over a pan of hot water for 12-15 mins.

if you fancy a go at this recipe i got it out of the

mary berry's baking bible.

i bought it when i bought my mixer and

swore to do every recipe

so i am working through each one and putting a

tick next to them when they are baked...

so on the check list for today 

a tired arm ...check

messy kitchen ... check

a fab cake? ... well fingers crossed it looks ok...

if nothing else its one more tick in the book!!

... than a nice day to get in the garden after a busy week!

i de-leafed the tomatoes, planted out some leeks,

pulled up some beetroots and a few carrots and found

a wonderful carrot

as if the fab legs were great enough

i laughed when i turned him round,

i am sure you can all quess why...

well enough said about that.

i final finaled the cake for the 21st.

 although i wasnt overly happy with it it turned out ok

and she liked it so thats all that matters...

busy busy week...

well this week i've been so busy,i have had some cards to do , bracelets to make and a cake to decorate.

well i have done 2 out of 3 and hoping to crack the other tomorrow, so fingers crossed...

i made these 2 cards using my stamping up! owl punch,

 paper from serif and kraft card

(sorry about the last pic, super flash!!)

i have been making quite a few of this style of bracelet lately for a few friends only got these 2 left and the black one is an order, will have to buy more cord as they are so fun to make.

and because its me i had to do a skull one for myself...

 i just finished this card to welcome the new neighbours and thought it would be quite fitting as my 1st post  to welcome you all... (i sure hope someone is there!!).

 i am very new to this blogging stuff so hopefully i'll get better at it,
