With sympathy

  • W plus 9- beautiful bouquets:mums
  • Avery elle- with sympathy die
  • Dealer Rowney-aqua fine smooth watercolour cardstock
  • Archival 'jet black' ink pad
  • SU! 'tangerine tango, real red, pear pizzazz, tempting turquoise' ink pads
  • Kraft cardstock
I cut a mat of watercolour cardstock to fit my card blank, leaving a slight border. I stamped my floral image over to the side of the card. I watercoloured using the ink pads, then attached to my card blank. I die cut the sentiment from Kraft cardstock 4 times and layered them up, before adding on to the card. This is a simple but pretty card with a little dimension on the sentiment. Although the colour palette is brighter than I would normally choose for a sympathy card, I think it creates a more modern look.

big news!!

  • SU!- big news
  • Mama elephant- rainbow high creative cuts
  • W plus 9- unforgettable
  • Daler Rowney- Aqua fine smooth watercolour cardstock
  • Tim holtz distress ink pads- tumbled glass, stormy sky, worn lipstick
  • Twine
  • Copics- sorry... got carried away with this one and forgot to make a note of which colours I used!!
I water coloured the blue to create a background. On another piece of card, I stamped the sentiment, die cut into the balloon shape and water coloured it pink. I added darker pink to letters and sparkled once dry. I stamped, coloured and die cut the elephant from a further piece of card. I glued the background to card blank, then added the balloon using foam pads. I then tied twine around the elephant's tail and positioned it on the card, again using foam for dimension. I looped the loose end of twine around the balloon and secured with a knot. I finished with some dots of glue along twine to hold it in place.

  • W plus 9- beautiful bouquets ranunculus stamp
  • Sentimentally yours- elegant milestone birthday
  • Archival 'jet black' ink pad
  • Daler Rowney- Aqua fine watercolour cardstock
  • Zig clean color real brush markers- 200,022,025,027,029,036,041,042,043,045,046,052,080&083
  • Black 6x6" card blank
I cut a matt of watercolour cardstock to fit my card blank leaving a small border around the edges. I stamped my flowers in an arrangement using a masking technique to give more depth to the design. I coloured using the zig markers and added water to blend. When I had finished colouring I made sure it was fully dry before stamping my sentiment.
I have chosen to keep this card looking very crisp, but you could flick some colour on for a more artistic feel or add some gems or sequins for a bit of sparkle.

Curious forest friends...

  • W plus 9- curious forest friends
  • Lawn fawn- small stitched circles stackables
  • Lawn fawn- large stitched rectangle stackables
  • Copics- bear:E81,43,44. Tree/honeypot:E35,37,39.YG63,67. background: B41.BG70. bees/honey:Y13,15 ground:C00,1.
  • Memento 'tuxedo black'ink pad
  • Tim holtz distress 'tumbled glass' ink pad
  • White & Kraft cardstock
To make this card I die cut 3 panels of white cardstock. One I inked blue and added a sentiment. The second I cut again at an angle. I stamped a small bee image all over and coloured using copics. I added shimmer with wink of stella. I then die cut a circle of white card and stamped my image. I used my copics to colour the image and add a blue haze around it to give it more depth. I die cut the same circle out of funky foam to create a layer to add some dimension to the card. I glued all these pieces to my card blank to match the sketch. I used the third panel of white cardstock to decorate the inside of my card. I stamped a sentiment in the middle of the panel and a image in the bottom corner. I coloured this with copics and glued it inside my card to finish.

I was in a rush when I made this card so did a little speed watercolor. I diecut a piece of watercolour cardstock and masked off a section to stamp inside. I stamped the floral image once then masked that off and stamped it again. I removed the mask over the flowers but left the tape lines on to protect the edges. I water coloured the panel then removed the masking tape. I stamped a sentiment under the panel and glued my watercolour card to the front of a card blank to finish.

I used a stitched square die to cut 2 pieces of watercolour cardstock. I then die cut 1 piece a second time, using a hill die to create a landscape. I coloured both pieces with distress ink pads and used a water sprayer to create some interest. for another little touch I added a small shooting star to the sky, I embossed this to make it bright white. I placed the sentiment on to my clear block, in a slight arch to match the line of the hill. I stamped this using black archival. I stamped, coloured (using copics) and die cut my bunny characters. I used the same sized die as before and a second slightly larger die to create a black frame to complete my card. I glued my layers onto my card using different depths of foam tape to give extra dimension.
