Adrenaline rush part 2

  • Kanban 'adrenaline rush' paper craft toppers
  • DCWV Fresh floral stack
  • Black & white spot paper (old one from the scrap box)
  • Silver mirri card
  • 7x7" card blank
I created a layout using two of the toppers with a frame from the collection. I then found two different dotty papers to coordinate. I mat and layered the orange spot onto silver mirri card to leave a white border on the card front. I then trimmed the black spot to fit as a band going down the card. With the toppers, I arranged them onto the card front and glued down with varied depths of foam pads to add more dimension to the card. I completed the front with the sentiment in the top corner, overlapping the circle frame to link it into the design. I think this is a nice bold design perfect for a birthday boy!!

festive treats

  • Hunkydory festive elegance luxury card collection: festive treats
  • Hunkydory second little book of Christmas
  • Silver mirri card
  • A5, DL and 6x6" card blanks
  • I made the first A5 card using the little topper squares from the collection. I covered the card front with the bright patterned card, cutting the section with the bow print to fit. I then spaced out the four square toppers in the mid section of the card and glued with foam pads. I added the matching insert inside to complete the card.
inside

Using the other half of the cardstock to create this 6" square card. I turned the sheet on its side so the pattern ran as a border down the side and trimmed to fit the card front. I then added the large rectangular topper, with the sentiment overlapping.
I used a coordinating sheet from the little book to make this A5 card. The rectangular frame worked well to edge the little book image and create separation from the patterned card stock. I covered the card front with the patterned card, then glued the image flat and the frame on foam. I finished the inside with the coordinating insert.
inside

For this DL card, I used the remaining patterned cardstock and another of the square toppers. The image was printed on the cardstock, so I simply trimmed it down to fit on the DL card with a border of silver mirri card. I completed with the sentiment topper on foam in the space above the image and the insert trimmed to fit inside.

Floral shadow

  • Altenew- floral shadow
  • Avery elle- with sympathy
  • Archival'jet black & sepia' ink pads
  • Kraft & black card stock
I trimmed a piece of black card and folded it down the centre to create a card blank. I then cut matt of kraft cardstock for the front of the card. I stamped the floral images across the top of the card in the sepia ink, following the sketch. I then added the sentiment, stamped in black  beneath. I glued the kraft matt onto the card front to complete this simple card. I think the simplicity of the design works perfectly for a sympathy card, with the focus on the message created by the space in the sketch and stronger contrast of ink.

party girl

  • hunkydory tots to teens card collection: party girl
  • hunkydory tots to teens little book
  • hunkydory essential book of 2016 sentiments
  • Tattered lace- 'large numbers' dies
  • gold mirri, pink, teal and black adorable scorable cardstock
  • pink ribbon
  • A5 (black), 8x8", 5x7", 6x6", 6x4" card blanks
For the 8" square card, I cut down a piece of patterned card to matt on gold mirri for the front of the card. I added the large image topper and positioned the sentiment topper to overlap. I added the matching insert to complete the inside too.

inside

I used the spare border from the cardstock to trim the top of this 6x4" card. I used some teal cardstock beneath and added coordinating ribbon to cover the join. I then placed the little image topper with the sentiment tag staggered on the front. I added a bow tied in the same ribbon to cover the hole in the top of the sentiment tag to finish.

Using the remaining off-cut of patterned cardstock, I made this simple 6x4" card. I covered the front with gold mirri and trimmed the cardstock down to layer on top. I completed the design with a sentiment topper glued on with foam pads.

I designed this card using the circle image topper and a coordinating sentiment. I layered these onto soft pink cardstock, trimmed with a piece of the balloon cardstock below. I covered the join between the two cardstocks with the sentiment border from the collection.
I used the remaining border to add a sentiment to this simple card. I used more of the soft pink card to matt onto the card front. I layered the little book image with gold mirri card and centred this on the card front, before adding the border across.

I made this A5 card using a black card blank to bring out the little black dress on the topper. I cut the balloon cardstock to leave a small edge of black on the card front and gutted the centre to save the cardstock which would be covered by the topper, before gluing onto the card. I matted a little book page onto gold mirri, then layered onto black cardstock to create the topper. I completed the front with a '21' die-cut from the same gold mirri card and added a section of insert to finish the inside.

inside
I used a strip of the remaining balloon cardstock to create a decorative border on a square card. I edged the balloons with gold mirri next to the little book image and completed with a coordinating sentiment from the essential book. I had enough cardstock and little book pages to make 2 more of this design to complete the collection.

I sprayed some water on, added bigger drops in places and lifted off some colour with a paper towel. I added water to some white paint and flicked it over my panel to create the look of stars. finally I stamped a moon image in the top corner and coloured it using a white pen. • SU! botanicals for you

  • tim holtz distress ink pads (abandoned coral, fossilized amber, tumbled glass and shabby shutters)

I cut two mats of white card to fit my blank. I then stamped the main sentiment into the centre of one. I also added a flourish of them in the corner of the second mat along with a sentiment for the inside of the card. I then glued the mats onto the card blank. The final touch for the card was some glitter to emphasise the sentiment. I think these messages and the flowers are great for all sorts of occasions and the flat design also makes it perfect for posting!!

falling leaves...

    front

    inside

  • SU! simply sketched and summer solstice stamp sets (I also used a 2005 sentiment stamp, but don't know the name of the set)
  • archival ink pad- jet black, olive & monarch orange
  • 6x4" black card black and white stamping cardstock
I first cut two white mats to fit my card blank. I used the sketch to map the main parts of my card front. I stamped a sentiment on the front of one mat. I added another sentiment in the centre of the second mat to go inside my card. I inked up my leaf stamp using two colours, I tried not to overlap the colours, so they didn't get muddy. I used the lines on my clear block to help with this technique. I stamped the five main leaves in position on the card front. I then second generation stamped to fill in some gaps. These softer leaves help to give a little more depth to the card. I added a final leaf to finish the other matt and stuck these onto my card blank.

kitted out for christmas !!

  • craftwork cards festive chalkboard kit
  • double sided tape and foam pads
I took a patterned card blank and cut a section off the front. I then cut and glued a piece of another paper onto the inside of the card blank so it could be seen when the card was closed. I cut out one of the frames and layered it over the sentiment using foam pads for dimension.

Using nice card kits can be a great way to make lots of simple but effective cards. When you like to send Christmas cards to a lot of people, I think a kit like this is the ideal way to craft... it's still a good idea to get started early in the year to give yourself time to play and be creative with them!!

  • patterned paper from dcwv's 'fresh floral stack'
  • 6x4 black card blank
  • 'jet black' archival ink

I followed the layout of the sketch, cutting my paper into three panels sized to fit the card blank. I stamped the sentiment onto some craftwork cards digi cardstock and shaped it into a banner using scissors. I added stitched detail around the edges of my layers with my sekura pen. Once the panels were glued down, I added the glitter to pick out the flowers in the paper. Finally, I stuck down the banner to complete the design.
