furry friends

  • Avery Elle - 'furry friends' stamp set
  • Lawn fawn dies - stitched scalloped borders
  • Stampin up! making spirits bright stamp set
  • Tim Holtz distress ink pads - salty ocean, tumbled glass, broken china
  • copics - e31, e35, e37
  • memento 'tuxedo black' ink pad
  • sekura clear glaze pen
  • memento black brush tip pen
  • 6x4 white card blank and cardstock

To begin, I cut a matt to fit my card blank. I created an ombre effect background on this matt. First I stamped paws working from the bottom upwards with salty ocean at the base, then 2nd generation salty ocean in the centre and tumbled glass at the top. I then inked the matt with the tumbled glass with some broken china blended in at the very bottom. I die cut the bottom with a scalloped edge die and stuck this to my card. I then stamped the sentiment in the bottom corner of the card blank. For the focal image, I stamped the dog, coloured him with copics and fussy cut him out. I then used a memento black brush tip pen to colour the white cardstock edge. I added him to the card using foam and glazed his nose to complete the card.

bear hugs...

  • mama elephant- bear hugs stamp & dies
  • SU! guy greetings
  • lawn fawn- large stitched rectangle stackables
  • memento 'tuxedo black' ink pad & copics
  • tim holtz distress inkpads (various bright colours and black soot)
  • black card blank
  • black & white cardstock
  • black funky foam
  • uni-ball white gel pen

I cut a piece of white cardstock slightly smaller than my card blank and used distress inks to create a night sky background. For the background, I first covered the card with spots of bright colours and then covered the entire sheet with black ink. I sprayed some water on, added bigger drops in places and lifted off some colour with a paper towel. I added water to some white paint and flicked it over my panel to create the look of stars. finally I stamped a moon image in the top corner and coloured it using a white pen. I glued this flat on to the centre of my card blank. I die cut a frame from black cardstock and funky foam and glued these layers together. I then glued this to the card blank. I stamped my sentiment onto some green cardstock and cut this into a banner shape. I used some more funky foam to glue this onto my card. I stamped, coloured and die cut the bear image. I used foam tape to attach this to my card and give it even more dimension. the final touch was a couple of silver confetti stars to complete the sketch.

sunday drive...

  • lawn fawn- stitched rectangle stackables & louie ABC'S
  • hunky-dory- little book of manly moments
  • black & kraft cardstock
  • black funky foam

to make this super quick 'fathers day' card...I used a sheet from the little book (with a car image) to cover the front of a black card blank. I created a frame using the stitched dies from kraft cardstock and glued this on to my card. I die cut the letters from both kraft cardstock and black funky foam, to spell dad. I glued these layers together to add a dimensional element on to my card.
I took the inside of the die cut frame and stamped a fathers day greeting. I glued this to the inside of my card, to create a finished look and somewhere nice to write.
you could easily use a different image and die cut words, to change the look of this card for other occasions.
