baked with love ...

  • 'express yourself' by stampin up!
  • 'stitched squares' dies and 'baked with love' stamp and dies set by lawn fawn
  • copics
  • memento ink pad
  • black glitter pen
  • craftwork cards cardstock and a printed card blank
I die cut the square matt using the stitched square and stamped it with the sentiment. I added the cute little heart onto the end and coloured it in with copics. I stamped the three images and coloured them to coordinate with the coloured card blank. I then used the matching dies to cut them out. I taped the matt onto the card blank and foam pads to stick down the images for some dimension. I added some glitter to the sentiment using the black glitter pen.

inside the card
For the inside of the card, I took the matching insert for the card blank and added a sentiment. This message stamp is a single line, so I masked each half off to stamp the sentiment as two separate lines. I stamped, coloured and die cut the spoon to embellish the corner. The final touch was some glitter on the sentiment to match the front.

sprinkled pink !!

stamps: remembering your birthday, a cherry on top (hostess) from stampin' up!
inks: tim holtz distress ink pads (brushed corduroy, spun sugar worn lipstick & tattered rose) also need the markers (brushed corduroy & worn lipstick)
cardstock: craftwork cards digi cardstock, 6x4" kraft card blank plus kraft cardstock
extras: bakers twine(I used stampin' up! calypso coral, because it was the best match for this card), a pink button (this one is papermania), I also used the stamp-a-ma-jig.

I started by cutting a mat for the front of my card, I inked this using a pale pink then glued it down. I cut the white layer next, ready for stamping onto. I used the distress markers (from tim holtz) to ink up sections of the stamp I wanted different colours, to add emphasis to some of the words in the sentiment. I then stamped the three cupcake wrappers in a row above and added the cupcake frosting tops using three different shades of pink ink pads, (the stamp-a-ma-jig was used to help line everything up.) I inked strips of card using the darker shade of pink and added these to my top white layer, placing one behind to create a thin border and one in front. I then wrapped bakers twine around the bottom pink panel and secured it at the back. I cut a small banner out of a scrap of kraft cardstock and added this to the topper. I knotted some more bakers twine through a pink button and glued it to the top of the banner. I added the topper to the card to complete.

inside
for the inside of the card I simply cut a mat to size, in white digi cardstock and stamped my sentiment in centre using brown ink. for a special touch I added a cupcake at the bottom corner, by stamping the bun case in place then lining up the frosting top with the stamp-a-ma-jig.

the edible edition !!

I thought id share a quick post to show some of my other creations. these are some of the festive designs i've added to cupcakes recently. the snowman and snowflake are vanilla flavoured, the santa and star are chocolate fudge (yum!!). each of them are decorated with icing and details like the eyes drawn with an edible pen. some edible lustre by sugarflare adds that extra festive feel. the really great thing about the designs is that you can have them made in advance and ready to add to the cupcakes when you've baked them. the star and snowflake are beautifully simple with the swirled frosting. snowmen and santas are a little more work but worth the effort for the fun they bring ... kids love them (I hope you do too!!)

beach party!!

as promised, here are the pictures from a recent party. it was a joint celebration for my parents silver wedding anniversary and my sisters 21st!!

for mum & dad's (fruit) cakes I flat iced it, first in marzipan, then sugar paste. I added two colours of ribbon to the base of each tier. I then piped on the coral. I added flower paste shells, I made by pressing the paste into a chocolate mould, (bought at the cake decorating store.)

for abbie's cake I made a topper with little beach huts. it was all made edible with sugar paste and brown sugar as sand.

pinwheels were bought from pipii.co.uk

ice-cream  cupcakes (which my dad loves... he thinks cupcake cases should be banned and only cones allowed!!) traditionally you would add a chocolate flake, but those are a little messy, so I think the chocolate wafer(from Tesco) was the perfect finishing touch for these.

these beach cupcakes use some brown sugar as sand a sugar paste towel and a paper drinks umbrella I got from asda

hope you like all the beach themed sweet ideas if you want any more details just leave a comment and ill help as much as I can...
