happy easter ...

this year for Easter I have decided to re-create a favourite card of mine, it won a local competition last Easter (which I was very pleased with) so I thought I would share it with you all...

I have used kraft card stock to make my card base, bazzill dotted swiss cardstock, Martha stewart border punch, lili of the valley stamps (spring bunny with eggs and set 8 happy circular sentiments), acetate, ribbon, and chocolate of choice (I choose wrapped eggs to be festive).

I also made these cute bags for my cousin's lucy and oliver. I used my docraft digi designer to make the patterned panels for the bags, i chose the me 2 u spring cd and printed the characters twice to decoupage. I made the bags from kraft paper stock and used raffia for the handles.

2 milk bottles...

sitting on the cake... lucky me none fell off!!
 close up off the bottles
this is a retirement cake i have just done for a milk man. the milk bottles are made from a krispie recipe to make them light enough to go onto the cake, which caused some trouble this week when decorating. i am pleased with how it turned out in the end though, hope you all agree...

happy mother's day!!

this is my mothers day card, i used a magnolia stamp coloured using promarkers. i cut the mat using a spellbinders shape die on my big shot machine. the background is using tim holtz distress ink pads and lili of the valley stamps . i also used a lili of the valley stamp to do the message which i coloured using promarkers in co-ordinating colours. i finished with a ribbon at the top tied in a bow.
i made these chocolate box cakes for my nana's. they are a chocolate cake with chocolate fudge frosting, topped with a selection of chocolates (i choose thornton's classic) .i then decorated the sides with chocolate fingers but you could use anything similar in shape. i choose a nice ribbon and tied a big bow and your finished, (you could do a bow and ribow with icing to make it all edible!!)
for this cake i used orange kitkat instead of chocolate fingers.

since it is mother's day i would like to share this card that my mum has made for her mum.
she used toppers and papers from hunkydory crafts and a silver border peel off which has a butterfly design. another fab effort, we mght just make a crafter out of her yet!!

with sympathy

so if you are already a card maker im sure you will know sympathy cards are some of the hardest to make, but they are always needed at the saddest of times and so appreciated most. i think it is worth keeping sympathy cards simple, or limit the colour palette.
for this card i used a 4x4 card blank, craftwork cards digi cardstock, stampin up! simply soft & petite pairs stamp sets i also used the stampin up! stamp-a-ma-jig as it is the only way to line the flowers up and is a gods send (if you have ever used one you will know), ranger archival ink pad in jet black and tim holtz distress ink pads in yellow tones.

for this card i used stampin up! summer solstice  and love & sympathy stamp sets,i also used a label framelit die from stampin up! and my big shot, archival ink pad in deep purple,a 4x6 card blank, some craftwork cards digi cardstock, i also painted  a little cosmic shimmer iridescent watercolour paint in lavender shine to the centre of the flowers to add a bit more detail.

hope you liked my ideas, please feel free to leave any comments on my projects
