Endless birthday wishes...

  • SU! Endless birthday wishes
  • Avery elle- a tag for all die
  • Midnight pixie powders
  • Archival 'jet black' ink pad
  • Watercolour cardstock
  • Silver mirri and black cardstock

I created the background on watercolour card by adding pixie powders to the top corner and spraying them with water. I tilted the card to create the runs, then dried with the heat tool for speed. I die cut the 'birthday' from black and silver cardstock and layered them up slightly off set to create a drop shadow effect. I completed the card by stamping the other sentiments and adding it onto a black card blank.

Butterflies

  • SU!- butterflies thinlit die
  • SU!- cottage greetings
  • Wilted violet distress ink pad & aubergine dream pixie powders
  • Peacock feathers distress ink pad & teal wash pixie powders
  • Fossilized amber distress ink pad & straw yellow pixie powders
  • Watercolour cardstock
  • White glitter cardstock
  • 4x6" card blanks

I used a combination of ink and pixie powder on watercolour cardstock to create three different coloured backgrounds. I squished ink onto my palette and diluted with some water. I brushed this onto the cardstock, sprayed with more water and added a sprinkle of powder. I blotted the excess water and paint at the edges, before drying with a heat tool for speed. I then used distress inks to stamp a sentiment onto each background. I also coloured the outer edges of the card blanks to coordinate, using blending foam and the distress ink pads. For the main feature, I die cut butterflies from glitter cardstock. Finally, I layered each of the backgrounds onto the card blanks then glued the butterflies in position.

Love & sympathy

  • SU!- love & sympathy
  • Altenew- floral shadow
  • Tattered lace- circles dies
  • Papermania- black/white baker's twine
  • Archival 'jet black' ink pad
  • Versamark 'frost' dazzle ink pad
  • Black, white and teal cardstock
To create the watermark background, I stamped my floral images on to the teal card stock using versamark. I have the dazzle version of this ink pad so it gives a slight shimmer without being over powering. I trimmed this down to fit my card blank, leaving a slight border. I then wrapped twine around my panel and tied in a knot.
I stamped my sentiment on to white card and die cut into a circle. I die cut a slightly bigger black cardstock circle and layered with the sentiment matt. I attached the circle sentiment using foam, positioned off to one side of my card to follow the sketch. I added the completed panel on to a white card blank, again using foam for dimension. To finish, I added the coordinating sentiment inside the card.

With sympathy

  • W plus 9- beautiful bouquets:mums
  • Avery elle- with sympathy die
  • Dealer Rowney-aqua fine smooth watercolour cardstock
  • Archival 'jet black' ink pad
  • SU! 'tangerine tango, real red, pear pizzazz, tempting turquoise' ink pads
  • Kraft cardstock
I cut a mat of watercolour cardstock to fit my card blank, leaving a slight border. I stamped my floral image over to the side of the card. I watercoloured using the ink pads, then attached to my card blank. I die cut the sentiment from Kraft cardstock 4 times and layered them up, before adding on to the card. This is a simple but pretty card with a little dimension on the sentiment. Although the colour palette is brighter than I would normally choose for a sympathy card, I think it creates a more modern look.

the dream house

  • Hunkydory toppers and card: special occasions 'the dream house'
  • silver mirri card stock
  • 8 x8" card blank
I matt and layered the patterned card onto silver mirri to fit on my card blank. I then arranged the topper pieces onto the front, taking care to make sure the spacing was even. I glued the pieces in place using varied depths of foam for dimension. I think this was a nice simple card, following the layout on the topper sheet and leaving plenty spare to make a couple more cards.

Jasmine phone's thirtieth

  • LOTV- jasmine phone
  • SU!- milestone moments & for my family
  • DCWV- the floral fair paper stack (there is a blue spot in this paper stack but I preferred the softer blue from the fresh floral stack)
  • Neenah classic crest cardstock

  • burgundy cardstock
  • 7x7" card blank
I started by deciding on my layout and choosing coordinating patterned papers to fit. I then stamped my image onto neenah cardstock and coloured with copics.  I trimmed this down and matted onto the plain cardstock. I stamped the 'thirtieth' sentiment onto neenah and trimmed and matted this too. I then cut my papers to size. I glued the floral paper onto the cardblank and matted the dotty papers onto card before layering these on top. I stamped the 'happy birthday' onto the blue paper, before sticking the image and sentiment in position using foam for dimension.

I then added a trim of sequins across the join. I layered the image on top using foam for dimension and to help it sit smoothly across the sequins, by not adding foam along this line. Finally, I added glitter the her wings for that added touch of detail.
