Scooter boy

  • LOTV- scooter boy stamp
  • We R memory keepers- anthologie 6 x 6 paper pad
  • Lawn fawn custom craft dies- large dotted square & large dotted rectangle stackables
  • Copics- C4, 5, 6, 7, 8. W00, 1, 3. E21, 35, 41, 50, 51, 55, 57, 93. R17, 27, 29. B95, 97, 99. YG00, 01, 21. G20. 0.
  • Neenah classic crest card stock
  • Red card stock
  • 6” square cardblank

I was asked to make a great grandson card for a little boy turning 6. I created a custom sentiment on the computer to fit inside the rectangle die, printed it onto Neenah card stock and cut it out. For the image I stamped, die cut and coloured the scooter boy. I covered the cardblank with the patterned paper and die cut a panel of a coordinating red card. To complete the card, I simply arranged the pieces onto the cardblank, overlapping each other, with just the sentiment raised on foam pads for a bit of dimension.

a birthday flower...

  • 7x7" white card blank
  • kraft cardstock
  • DCWV floral fair paper stack
  • poppy stamps- fancy happy birthday die
  • wink of stella- clear
to make this card I took 3 papers from the paper pad. the 1st sheet, I used to mat straight on to the card blank. I cut a kraft layer and die-cut the sentiment out of the centre (gutting). I then matted this layer with the 2nd sheet of paper and glued the sentiment in to the centre. the 3rd sheet of paper I fussy cut the flowers out to make an arrangement in two corners of the card. I attached these to my card using foam for dimension, I also added a touch of sparkle to the flower to complete my card.

  • Sentimentally yours- elegant milestone birthday
  • LOTV- timeless Victorian paper
  • SU!- finishing touches edgelits
  • Neenahclassic crest cardstock
  • Memento 'tuxedo black' ink pad
  • Copics- skin E50,51,21,11,93. Hair E44,43,42.Y21. dress C4. V12,15,17. BG32,34. Dress/bottle YG63,67. Bottle/drink E40,81. Glass BG70. Ground C1,00
  • atyou spica glitter pens - clear, sand and black
  • Clear self adhesive gems and paper flowers (unknown brand)
I took inspiration from the sketch and decided to create an alternative shaped card by cutting the front off at an angle. To do this, I measured 1cm in from two corners on the front of my card blank and drew a diagonal pencil line across to help line up my edge die. I die cut along the line to shape the card with a decorative edge. I cut a mat of paper for both the inside and outside of my card blank and glued them down. I stamped and coloured my image with copics and touches of glitter to create the champagne bubbles and sparkly belt. I then stamped my sentiment onto another piece of card and used my paper trimmer to shape them into rectangles. I matted each of these onto the coordinating paper and glued them to my card, making sure the glue was only on the areas touching the card front and not on the overhang. I added paper flowers in matching colours and clear gems to complete the sketch with a touch of decoration and sparkle.

friend...

  • 6x4" white card blank and cardstock
  • HOTP- card maker's floral ultimate pack
  • paper smooches- friend word wise dies
  • bakers twine
I chose three coordinating papers, the first I cut just slightly smaller than the front of my card as a mat. the second I cut a 1" strip of paper and rounded the corners. i then glued this in position, to match the sketch layout. I made a hole down the spine of my card blank, in the centre of the paper strip. I threaded my twine through the card to wrap around a few times, then tied a bow. (if you have a top folding card you would not need to do this step, but since I had a side fold card I thought it would give a neater finish). I die cut the word 'friend' three times from white cardstock and once from the third piece of coordinating paper. I used glue to attach all 4 layers together to give the sentiment some dimension.
