Merry Christmas my deer

  • Hunkydory festive elegance luxury card collection: Merry Christmas my deer
  • Hunkydory essential book of Christmas sentiments
  • Silver & rainbow mirri card
  • clear acetate
  • Pinflair ice diamonds sprinkles
  • doodlebug lily white glitter
  • 7x7", 6x6" & 5x5" card blanks
For this 7" square card, I created a shaker using a topper and frame from the collection. I mat and layered the card front with rainbow mirri and patterned cardstock. I then added the topper image onto the card, glued down flat. I cut acetate to fill the frame and sealed with foam tape. I added a mix of the pinflair sprinkles and doodlebug glitter onto the topper for the shaking element. I positioned the frame on top complete the shaker element. The little sentiment was added to the top corner on foam pads to complete the card. For the inside, I trimmed the insert to fit inside with the printed sentiment.

I used the remaining patterned cardstock to create this little 5" square card. I turned the paper so the border ran across the front and trimmed to cover the card blank. I added the deer image and sentiment toppers to the card which I made flat for posting. I trimmed the matching piece of insert down to complete the inside too.

For the 6" square card, I matt and layered the silver mirri and patterned cardstocks onto the card front. I then positioned the topper with the deer onto the front, so the snowline continued from background to topper. I completed the front with a sentiment from the essential book.

The final card was created to feature the printed deer from this patterned cardstock. I simply trimmed it down to fit the 5x5" card, with a matt of silver mirri and finished with an essential book sentiment.

Congratulations toast...

  • SU!- making spirits bright
  • Mama elephant- 'union square' framed tag creative cuts
  • Paper smooches-congratulations die
  • Memento 'tuxedo black' ink pad
  • Copics- E40,81. BG70. C00.
  • Wink of stella 'clear' glitter brush pen
  • Ranger glossy accents
  • White card
  • Cream glitter card
  • Bronze sequins
I cut a matt of glitter card to fit my card blank. I then cut a matt of white card to sit on top and stamped my image in the centre. I coloured this with copics, then added a clear glitter to make the bubbles glisten, followed by a layer of glossy accents to add shine to the glasses. Whilst this dried, I created the shaker element. I die cut the aperture from the centre of a matt of white cardstock. I then added a piece of acetate to the back of this panel and edged this with foam tape (making sure there will be a full seal with no gaps for sequins to escape!) I made sure the glossy accents were dry, before adding a neat pile of sequins on top. I then positioned the shaker frame onto the card, trapping the sequins in place. To complete the card, I die cut a sentiment from the glitter card and added this across the front of the shaker.

my millie...

front of the card
  • 4x4" pearl card blank
  • coloured card stock
  • a tattered lace embossing folder
  • lawn fawn- stitched circle stackable
  • acetate
  • sequins- spring mix
  • digi cardstock, memento ink,copics
  • avery elle- furry friends stamps & dies
  • tim holtz distress ink pad (worn lipstick)
  • SU! because you care
  • sakura micron pen & clear star pen
  • inkssentials opaque white
  • glossy accents
to make this card I cut a mat of blue to fit my card, I then die cut a circle from this and the card blank. I then embossed the blue mat for added texture. I used the original circle die with a larger one to create a pink frame to layer on top. I then began to assemble the card by adding 2 pieces of acetate with beads and sequins in between, using foam tape to separate the layers creating the shaker window. I then layered the card up with the blue layer and the pink frame to decorate the front. I stamped, coloured and die cut the dog to add the image to the front of the card. I highlighted the eyes and nose with glossy accents.  I decided to colour the dog like my puppy millie, to add a personal touch.

inside the card

For the inside, I created a mat of pink card decorated with paws stamped all over for backing paper. I then added a blue circle of card removed from the window of the front. I stamped a sentiment and added it to the inside, lining it up with the window shaker window so it could be read from the front.

back of the card
I took the circle cut from the inside of the pink frame and added this to the back of the card for somewhere to write your message. I stamped it with a bone and added my 'handmade by' stamp to finish off. I think the combination of a sequin shaker, bright colours and the cute dog make this a really fun little card.

shake your booties !!

I didn't have a plan for this card so I am happy with how it turned out. I haven't done a shaker card in ages and now I know why... they are a bit messy and so hard to photograph!!

for this card I took a kraft card blank, (this is a 5x7 landscape.) I cut a mat out of a piece of kraft card and layered it with a piece of paper, from the lili of the valley country lady 8x8 paper pad. I added a piece of ribbon and tied it in a bow, over to one side, and glued the mat onto the card. I used a paper-piercing template and mat from stampin' up! to add some detail to the edges and a pattern across the bottom. next, I stamped a sentiment from the stampin' up! bring on the cake stamp set, using an archival coffee ink pad onto some co-ordinating paper. I then cut this out using a sizzix circle die. I took a third piece of paper from the pad and cut out a circle, using the size down in my circle set. I then glued acetate to the back of the paper before cutting out a bigger scallop circle (with the circle in the middle) to create a frame. to make the shaker I added foam tape all the way around the edge on the back of the acetate, being extra careful not to leave any gaps.  I put the pattern side down and added a bit of glitter a few sequins and a good amount of pinflair ice diamond to the centre. I stuck the stamped circle onto this, remembering to keep the patterned side down. I then turned it over and glued the shaker element onto my card. I finally stamped a magnolia image (tilda with rubber boots) on to craftwork cards digi cardstock, using memento ink and coloured her with promarkers. I cut her out to add to the side of my shaker, using tape on the overlap and foam on the rest to keep her level with the shaker.
