Bambi frame gift

  • Disney bambi metal die
  • Nit wit & LOTV- always & forever paper pad
  • My favourite things- stitch rectangle scallop edge frames
  • Lawn fawn- finley’s ABC’s dies
  • Copic friendly cardstock
  • Copic markers- E30,31,34,35,37,39,57,59. W8,10. R000,81,83.
  • Grey 8” square frame (mine was from wilko)
To make this frame gift, I selected two pieces of coordinating paper. I chose one 8x8 piece for the background and the other to die cut from for embellishments. I diecut the frame and letters to spell the name from the patterned paper. I also diecut my bambi image from white card and added tape to the back, whilst all the pieces where still in the metal die, to hold the sections together. I then removed the bambi from the die and added back in any pieces that had fallen out. I used copic markers to colour the image, using a picture online as reference.
I decided on the best layout and glued all of the pieces onto the background paper. I used a craft knife to remove any paper showing through the die-cut frame to create an aperture for a photo to sit behind.
I slotted this finished piece into the frame and added a sheet of white card behind, to make it look nice for gifting. I prefer to leave it for the child’s parents to decide which picture they want to display rather than selecting one you like.

Christmas couple

  • Hunkydory Snowy season luxury card collection: Christmas couple
  • Hunkydory adorable scorable cardstock
  • White ribbon
  • A5 white card blanks

  • For the first card, I cut the snowflake cardstock to cover the card front. I then tied a bow in the ribbon and wrapped this around the cardstock, before I glued it to the card to hide the cut ends and keep it all neat. To create space to allow the image topper to stand out, I die cut an oval from a coordinating plain lilac cardstock to sit inside the frame. I glued the image down onto the die-cut panel using low foam pads. I added the sentiment frame, raised on deeper foam to create dimension and edge the lilac panel. I glued this in position on the card front above the ribbon. I cut the insert down with the coordinating couple image and glued this inside to complete the card.
    inside
To create the second card, I used the lilac cardstock which complimented the snowflake paper and frame to soften the design. I pieced together the card front with the lilac panel at the top and a strip of the snowflake cardstock beneath. I covered the join with the border strip from the collection. I then glued the image and frame central to the top panel and added the sentiment topper to the middle of the snowflake panel, all using foam pads. Again, I finished the card with an insert, trimmed down to fit neatly inside.

    A Merry Little Christmas

    • Hunkydory festive elegance luxury card collection: A Merry Little Christmas
    • Hunkydory second little book of Christmas
    • Hunkydory copper mirri cardstock
    • A5 & 8x8" card blanks

For the 8" square card, I cut the cardstock down to fill the card front. To ground the sentiment, I added the border strip running across the base of the card. I positioned the sentiment to sit overlapping the border edge. For the main feature, I positioned the topper central with the border surrounds at angles to add interest. I trimmed the insert down to fit inside the card to complete.
    inside

I used the second sheet of cardstock to cover the A5 card blanks. I simply arranged the main topper and little sentiment underneath, sitting on the main panel between the printed borders. For the inside, I cut the insert down to fit neatly.
    inside

For the final card, I created a topper using the matching little book page. I cut the borders off the book image and matted onto coordinating mirri card. I then positioned it centrally onto the card blank, covered with the remaining cardstock. I completed the front with the additional sentiment topper from the collection, placed overlapping the bottom of the main topper. Again, I added the insert into the card for that extra finishing touch.

    Santa's sleigh ride

    • Hunkydory festive elegance luxury card collection: Santa's sleigh ride
    • Hunkydory essential book of Christmas sentiments
    • Paper smooches Christmas words 2 die
    • red cardstock, silver & gold mirri card
    • A5, 7x7" & 6x6" card blanks

For the large square card, I mat and layered the cream cardstock onto the card front, to feature the border across the bottom edge. I then positioned the image topper with the sentiment beneath, both on foam pads. I cut down the coordinating insert to fit the inside of the card to finish.
    inside
With the A5 card, I covered the card front with the cardstock. I then glued the topper and frame pieces to the top section of the card, all on foam for dimension. I chose a sentiment from the essential book to sit beneath. With the insert, I trimmed this down to centralise the message inside the card.
    inside
For the final card, I mat and layered the 6" square card with gold mirri and the printed santa sleigh cardstock. I die cut the 'seasons greetings' from gold and red and glued together offset to create a gold shadow effect. I then positioned the sentiment onto the space beneath the image to finish the card front. Once again, I added the coordinating insert to fit the inside of the card.

    Toyshop Window

    • Hunkydory Christmas Classics Luxury Card Collection: Toyshop Window
    • Hunkydory second little book of Christmas
    • Hunkydory essential book of Christmas sentiments
    • A5, 5x7" & 6x6" white card blanks
For the first A5 card, I covered the card front with the cardstock. I then positioned the image topper and frame on foam pads, centred in the top panel. I added the sentiment which coordinated with the frame beneath to complete the front. I cut the insert down to fit inside with the printed sentiment.
    inside
Using the other half of the cardstock, I created a 5x7" card. I covered the card front with the cardstock, trimmed down to fit. I then added the image topper to the centre of the top section and positioned an essential book sentiment on the printed border. I cut the remaining insert down, so the inside of the card matched the background of the card front.
    inside
I used the matching little book to create a topper for this A5 card. I cut the cardstock to fit the card front. For the topper, I glued the frame to the little book page then trimmed away the excess image from behind the outer edge of the frame. I glued this to the card front with a sentiment from the collection, overlapping at the base. I cut the insert down to fit neatly inside, complete with the printed message.
    inside
For the square card, I cut down the remaining cardstock to fit the card front, with the wreaths down one side. I then glued the topper and an essential book sentiment to the main panel of the card front. I added the insert to the inside of the card to finish the collection.

Santa Claus is Coming to Town

    • Hunkydory Christmas classics Luxury card collection: Santa Claus is Coming to Town
    • Hunkydory second little book of Christmas
    • Hunkydory essential book of Christmas sentiments
    • cardstock from various other Hunkydory collections
    • silver mirri card
    • A5, DL, 5x7", 6x4" & 6x6" white card blanks
For this DL card, I made a feature of the printed Santa image on one sheet of cardstock. I simply covered the card front with the cardstock and finished with a little sentiment from the collection. I added the coordinating section of insert to the inside of the card.
    inside
I used the remaining cardstock to cover this A5 card. I matted the little book page onto silver mirri card to create a topper and finished with an essential book sentiment. I trimmed the insert down to cover the inside of the card and add the message.
    inside
I took the second sheet of cardstock from the collection and created this A5 card. I cut the cardstock to fit the card front, with the border across the base. I trimmed down the other coordinating little book image to fit neatly in the frame. I glued the image and frame to the centre of the top panel of cardstock. I found a message from the essential book to compliment the design and positioned this on the printed border. I added the insert to the inside of the card.
    inside
I positioned the border vertically on this square card to ground the large sentiment. I cut the cardstock to fill the card front. I then added the sentiment topper overlapping the border edge. Beside the sentiment, I glued the Santa image topper. I trimmed the insert down to centre the message inside the card.
    inside
For this 5x7" landscape card, I pieced together an offcut of red cardstock from this collection alongside a neutral piece from another collection. I cut the cardstock to fit the card front, with a border strip covering the join. I added the little topper, edged with the same print as the border strip, off centre on the card. I completed the design with an essential book sentiment.
I used another of the small toppers from the collection, along with various offcuts of cardstock to create this 6x4" card. I pieced together the card front with a green strip of card from this set, edged with the coordinating red cardstock and border left over from another set. I positioned the essential book sentiment across the border at the top of the card and placed the long, thin Santa topper beneath on the green section.
Following the same design concept of using up remaining pieces of cardstock, I was able to make this 6" square card. The join between the cardstocks was edged with a fine green and gold ribbon this time, secured behind the cardstock panels before they were glued to the card front. I cut down a little book page to fill the frame, left over from this collection, to create the topper. I finished the card with the remaining sentiment, centred on the bottom border.
I found another piece of the cream cardstock used above, large enough to cover a 6x4" landscape card blank. I used a border strip to break up the plainer cardstock with a splash of colour. The topper chosen from the essential book sat across this border. I then angled the topper image onto the matching frame to create the focal point on the card.

    Merry Christmas my deer

    • Hunkydory festive elegance luxury card collection: Merry Christmas my deer
    • Hunkydory essential book of Christmas sentiments
    • Silver & rainbow mirri card
    • clear acetate
    • Pinflair ice diamonds sprinkles
    • doodlebug lily white glitter
    • 7x7", 6x6" & 5x5" card blanks
For this 7" square card, I created a shaker using a topper and frame from the collection. I mat and layered the card front with rainbow mirri and patterned cardstock. I then added the topper image onto the card, glued down flat. I cut acetate to fill the frame and sealed with foam tape. I added a mix of the pinflair sprinkles and doodlebug glitter onto the topper for the shaking element. I positioned the frame on top complete the shaker element. The little sentiment was added to the top corner on foam pads to complete the card. For the inside, I trimmed the insert to fit inside with the printed sentiment.
    inside

I used the remaining patterned cardstock to create this little 5" square card. I turned the paper so the border ran across the front and trimmed to cover the card blank. I added the deer image and sentiment toppers to the card which I made flat for posting. I trimmed the matching piece of insert down to complete the inside too.
    inside

For the 6" square card, I matt and layered the silver mirri and patterned cardstocks onto the card front. I then positioned the topper with the deer onto the front, so the snowline continued from background to topper. I completed the front with a sentiment from the essential book.

The final card was created to feature the printed deer from this patterned cardstock. I simply trimmed it down to fit the 5x5" card, with a matt of silver mirri and finished with an essential book sentiment.
