For mum...

Supplies:
Stamping Bella- bedelia and Betsy go for a walk stamp
Avery Elle- a tag for all die set
Sentiment stamp- unknown, been in my stash a while and no packaging
Copic markers- E44,43,42 N0,2,4 R01 E95,93 (bunnies) R85,83,81 BG45 YG03,05,11,13,23,25 (I used far too many greens but not sure which I used mostly)
Wink of Stella- clear glitter brush pen
Bakers twine- pink and blue
White card stock & copic colouring cardstock

I diecut the large tag from copic friendly cardstock. I stamped and copic coloured the image. I Glued the tag onto plain white card and made a card blank, the same shape. I cut the hole through the front and added the twine for a bit of colour. Finishing touch was glitter pen to the ‘mum’ and bits on flowers.

I love this image so kept the card super simple.

mice time to celebrate.

  • My favourite things- it’s a mice time to celebrate (stamps & dies)
  • Lawn fawn- happy birthday border lawn cuts
  • Prima- free spirit paper
  • WeR memory keepers- love 2 craft papers
  • Copies- C00,1,2,4. R000,00,20,21,81. RV34. BV00,11. B00. BG53. YG11,21,41.
  • Memento dye ink pad-tuxedo black
  • Wink of Stella brush pen- clear
  • 6” square card blank

I picked a main patterned paper to act as a background. I added a strip of dark polka dots, layered with a yellow pattern. I also used the dark paper to die cut my greeting. I layered all these and glued onto the card blank. I then stamped, coloured and die cut the cute mice images. I used 1mm foam on one mouse and 2mm foam on the other to create more dimension. I added sparkle to the Pom poms, to finish.

I’m entering the Simon says Wednesday ‘use 2 or more pattern paper’ challenge blog, I’m so glad I did too. I don’t use my patterned papers much but the background paper really makes the card.

Chic 60th

So I wanted to make a special card for a friends 60th birthday. I instantly thought of using the hunkydory window to the heart postcard collection. I used the a special friend toppers, matching paper and insert.

I folded an a5 cardblank and covered the front with patterned paper. I scored a piece of a4 acetate in the centre, then on one side scored a second line 2.5cm away. I creased the folds, added a couple bits of tape in the folded strip and glued it to my card blank. I wrapped some white ribbon around the card front and acetate to cover the glue, then tied in a bow.

I trimmed the picture side of the insert to fit the inside of the card. I stamped my 60th sentiment and added some glitter pen to add sparkle. I trimmed the greeting side of insert to be the same size as the toppers.

I glued the first topper in position on the front of the card blank. I positioned another on top of the acetate in line with the one on the card front. I then used the insert greeting paper to cover the glue on the reverse of the acetate. As a final touch, I added a stick on gem to the perfume bottle.

botanic thanks

  • Mama elephant- botanic thanks
  • Water colour cardstock
  • Archival ‘jet black’ ink pad
  • Zig clean color real brush markers- 040,041,047. 036,037. 080,803. 070,052,050.021,026.027,202,200. 022,020.
  • Black cardstock
  • SU!- silver glitter tape
I cut a piece of water colour card roughly to size and stamped my image. I taped the card down and coloured the flowers, leaving the thanks without any colour. Once dried, I trimmed the panel to the size I wanted. I matted onto some black cardstock, so a band showed at the top and bottom. I folded my cardblank and added glitter tape to the top and bottom edges. I glued the coloured panel on top to finish my card. I did this flat for posting but using foam tape would be lovely too.

  • Stamping Bella: tiny townie Bess the butterfly (stamp & die)
  • Mama elephant: Madison Avenue creative cuts die
  • Stampin up!: curly cute
  • Make it colour blending cardstock
  • Copics:E50,51,21,93. E42,43,44. Y15. BG10,53. BV0000,000,00,11. V25. RV00. C5,6,7,8.
  • Wink of Stella ‘clear’ sparkle brush marker
  • Tim holtz ‘dusty concord’ distress ink pad
  • Pattern Paper (from craftwork cards, don’t know the name)
To make this card I simply die cut my frame from copic friendly cardstock. I used the centre to stamp and colour my image, then cut it out using the matching die.
I cut out a piece of pattern paper, which had the sentiment printed on. I inked my card blank with the purple ink then glue the paper to the centre. I added the white frame. I glued the image in place using foam for dimension. Final touch was a bit of sparkle to the wings.

sending love

  • hunky-dory 'gift of love...' foil topper sheet
  • patterned paper (found loose in my stash)
  • 6x4" card blank
This card was so quick and easy to make, it would be perfect for a beginner. The hunkydory foiled toppers always make your cards feel very professional too.
To make this card, I folded my card blank and creased the fold. I cut my patterned cardstock to fit the front of the card, then glued in place using double sided tape.
If you don’t feel confident you can place it perfectly, you can cut the patterned cardstock slightly bigger than your card front and glue in place. Then, turn your card over and using scissors trim to size, using the edge of the card blank as a guide.
After this, I added the toppers and used foam tape/squares to add dimension, to make it feel more special. I chose to raise the frame for this card. You can either glue the frame down, then add the image in flat after. Alternatively, you could place the frame in the centre of your card without any glue, allowing you to position and glue the image topper inside. Once in place, you remove the frame, add your foam tape and glue it down using your centre as the guide.
It really is that simple!

teddy at play

  • Hunkydory for the boys: teddy at play
  • Hunkydory essential book of sentiments 2018
  • coordinating cardstock
  • Gold mirri card

I cut away a section from the open edge of the front my card blank to create a reveal to the inside. I covered the inside with one of the inserts from the set, trimmed to size. I covered the front of the card blank with the cardstock from the collection so the printed bear image became the main feature. Following the sketch, I then cut a band of coordinating cardstock, matted onto mirri to create the border edge. I took a sentiment from the book and positioned this overlapping the band to complete the card.

  • Ranger glossy accents
  • Pink cardstock

  • I stamped, coloured and die cut my image into a circle. I layered this onto the next size die-cut circle, in a coordinating coloured cardstock. I printed my sentiment onto cardstock and die-cut it into a circle, then layered it with pink the same as the image. I mat and layered the card blank with coloured cardstock and floral paper. To complete the card, I glued everything onto my card blank, using different depths of foam pads for dimension. The final touch was a bit of sparkle and some glossy accents on the balloon.

Rainbow thanks

  • Lawn fawn- louie’s ABCs dies
  • SU!- simply wonderful stamp
  • Tim holtz distress ink pads- festive berries, candied apples, carved pumpkin, fossilised amber, mustard seed, mowed lawn, peacock feathers, salty ocean, shaded lilac & dusty concord
  • Watercolour cardstock
  • Black cardstock
  • Black funky foam
  • Archival ink pad- jet black
  • Landscape dl cardblank
I cut a piece of white card stock to the size of my card and used the ink pads to create a rainbow background. I used a lot of colours to get a smooth blend but you don’t need to. I then lined up the alphabet dies onto the background and cut, keeping all the pieces. I stamped the sentiment underneath. I trimmed the background down and layered onto a matt of black cardstock, then glued to the card blank. To add depth, I die cut the same letters from foam and glued them into the gaps on the background, topped with the saved cardstock pieces. I love how simple but effective this card is.

I covered the front of my card blank in the pink dotty paper. I cut a mat of sprinkle cardstock as a layer. I diecut the ‘thanks’ from the centre top. I glued this onto the card.
I stamped coloured and diecut the mice and donut images. I played about til i had an arrangement i was happy with. Then glued all the pieces down using both glue and foam to add dimension.
The final touch was to add sparkle to all of the donut frosting.

To decorate the inside of the card, i added a coordinating sentiment from the stamp set in the centre. I also stamped, coloured and die cut a small image, and glued this to the bottom corner of the card.

writing notes

  • Stampin up!- writing notes & colour me happy stamp sets
  • Lawn fawn 'blue jay'& 'lobster' ink pads
  • Memento ‘tuxedo black’ ink pad
  • Copics- R32. RV42. BG13,32. BG0000.01.02. B00. Y02,15,18. E23. C0.
  • Sakura glaze pen #849
  • Wink of Stella ‘clear’ glitter brush pen
I first cut a piece of card to cover the front of my card blank. I stamped this with the writing notes background stamp, using two colours to give the full note paper look. To do this, I carefully just inked up the lines I wanted red, stamped then cleaned my stamp and repeated with the blue. I used the Misti to help make sure it all lined up. If you didn’t have a Misti, it would be easier to just carefully apply both colours of ink to your stamp then stamp all at once.
I then stamped my bird image and sentiment in position on the card and coloured these using copics. I added glitter to the ‘thank’ and glaze pen to the ‘you’ and the birds eye. I think this just adds a bit of detail to a simple card.

I then die cut the birthday into the panel, making sure to keep all the cut pieces. I glued the panel and the inside letter pieces onto my white card blank. On another sheet of cardstock, I stamped my images and coloured using copics. I fussy cut all the pieces and glued the little white smoke puffs flat. I added foam tape to the bus for dimension. To attach the balloons, I first tied 2 strands of embroidery floss onto the balloon with a little knot. I then added foam tape to stick it in position and used a few dots of glue to keep the string in place where I wanted. The final touch was a bit of glitter to the hats and balloons.

  • Lawn fawn- thank you borders
  • Watercolour cardstock
  • Archival 'jet black'ink pad
  • Zig clean Colorado real brush markers (052,023,021,045,041,068)

I stamped and watercoloured my floral and butterfly images. I cut these out using the coordinating dies.
I die cut the sentiment twice from black and a third time using cardstock that I coloured using the pink ink pad. (You could also use the watercolor marker instead). I glued these on top of each other to add dimension.
I used the sketch as inspiration to add a bit of blue ink to the card blank, creating a soft circle. I glued all the elements on to the card blank following the sketch. I used foam on the outer edges of the butterfly wings and glued flat in the centre to add extra dimension. To finish the card I addded a bit of sparkle detail to the wings, sentiment and flower centers.

Adrenaline rush part 2

  • Kanban 'adrenaline rush' paper craft toppers
  • DCWV Fresh floral stack
  • Black & white spot paper (old one from the scrap box)
  • Silver mirri card
  • 7x7" card blank
I created a layout using two of the toppers with a frame from the collection. I then found two different dotty papers to coordinate. I mat and layered the orange spot onto silver mirri card to leave a white border on the card front. I then trimmed the black spot to fit as a band going down the card. With the toppers, I arranged them onto the card front and glued down with varied depths of foam pads to add more dimension to the card. I completed the front with the sentiment in the top corner, overlapping the circle frame to link it into the design. I think this is a nice bold design perfect for a birthday boy!!
